The best Moises alternative depends on which part of Moises you use. For free stems with speed, key and loop in one place, BandLab Splitter is the closest swap. For chords, lyrics and stems in one app, Chord ai covers more of Moises's features than any other app here. For stems you can download at no cost, Fadr splits vocals, melodies, drums and bass. To change a song's key or speed with nothing uploaded, our free key changer and tempo changer run in your browser. And if Moises already does everything you need, its Premium plan at $39.99 a year costs less than most of the paid options here.
Key takeaways
- Moises's free plan allows 5 uploads a month, each up to 5 minutes, and deleting a song doesn't give the upload back. Chords, lyrics and the smart metronome cover only the first minute of each song.
- No single free app replaces all of Moises. BandLab Splitter comes closest for stems, speed and key; Chord ai for chords and lyrics.
- Slowing a song down or changing its key doesn't need AI separation or an upload at all.
- Switch for the free limits or one missing feature, not to save money on a paid plan: Moises Premium is cheaper per year than Chord ai Pro or Fadr Plus.
What Moises does, and where the free plan stops
Moises calls itself a creative suite for musicians. It separates songs into stems (its site lists 27 stem types, from vocals, guitar, bass and drums to piano, winds and strings), finds the chords, changes the speed, transcribes lyrics, records video of your playing, and has Moises Studio for working on a session with bandmates in the browser. It runs in a browser, on desktop, iPhone, iPad and Android. Moises says it trains its models only on licensed material and never on your files.
The free plan is where most people start looking for an alternative. Its help pages say free accounts get 5 uploads a month, each up to 5 minutes, split into 2 stems (vocals and instrumental) or 4 (vocals, drums, bass and other). Deleting a song doesn't give the slot back, and chords, lyrics and the smart metronome cover only the first minute. Moises shows its prices only after you log in, so we took them from the US App Store: Premium is $5.99 a month or $39.99 a year, with songs up to 20 minutes and no upload limit, and Pro is $29.99 a month.
How we picked
On 26 October 2026 we read each alternative's own website, pricing and help pages, and its App Store and Google Play listings, and noted which Moises jobs it covers and what it costs. We ran only our own tools, which we built and measured. We didn't put the other apps through a listening test, so this page compares what they offer and charge, not how clean each result sounds. Prices are US prices; other countries differ.

1. BandLab Splitter: the closest free swap
BandLab calls Splitter "the ultimate practice tool", and it covers the Moises jobs most people use every day. It splits a song into vocals, drums, bass and other instruments, lets you solo or mute each part, changes the speed and the key, loops a section, detects the song's key and shows its tempo. You can export the stems or open them in BandLab's studio. It works on the web and in the BandLab app, which has more than 100 million Google Play downloads and 4.7 stars from about 511,000 ratings on the US App Store.
- Cost: free. Guitar separation needs a BandLab Membership, $14.99 a month on the US App Store.
- Watch out: its page doesn't mention chords or lyrics, and the Android app shows ads.
2. Chord ai: the most Moises-like app
Chord ai is built around chord recognition, but it covers most of what Moises does. Choose a song from your files, YouTube or SoundCloud, or let it listen through the microphone, and it shows the chords in bars and beats. It also recognises lyrics on your device in nearly 100 languages, separates 4 stems (bass, drums, vocals and other), turns audio into MIDI, and changes the speed and pitch, with loops. It has 4.6 stars from about 5,900 ratings on the US App Store and more than a million Google Play downloads.
- Cost: free to download. Pro is $10.99 a month or $69.99 a year, and adds advanced and slash chords, a smart capo and alternate tunings.
- Watch out: the listing doesn't say which of its other features are free, so check before you rely on one.
3. Fadr: stems you can download
Fadr's free Basic plan splits a song into vocals, melodies, drums and bass, with MP3 downloads, MIDI detection and a remix maker, in your browser. Its comparison table also lists chord progressions, key and tempo. Fadr Plus separates 18 stem types, including lead and backing vocals, piano, guitar, strings, kick and snare, and adds lossless WAV downloads, uploads up to an hour and plugins for your DAW.
- Cost: free; Plus is $10 a month or $100 a year.
- Watch out: uploads on the free plan are limited to 10 minutes, and its downloads are MP3, not WAV.
4. LALAL.AI and Ultimate Vocal Remover: if you only need the separation
If you only use Moises to split songs, you need a separator, not a practice app. LALAL.AI sells the paid route: the free plan gives 10 minutes of previews with no downloads, and Lite is $90 a year with downloads and fast processing, on every platform. Ultimate Vocal Remover is free, open source and runs offline on Windows, Mac and Linux, at whatever speed your computer allows. Our best vocal remover comparison covers both, plus vocalremover.org.
Our free tools: the ones we tested
Our key changer raises or lowers a song by up to 6 semitones without changing its speed, and our tempo changer plays it from half speed to one and a half times without changing its key. Both take songs up to 8 minutes, need no account, and work in your browser, so the file never leaves your phone or computer; you download the result as a WAV. The BPM and key finder tells you a song's tempo and key the same way.
When we measured both tools on test tones in October 2026, a tone raised by 2 semitones landed 0.7 cents from the exact note (a cent is a hundredth of a semitone), and at 125% speed the tone took 80% of the time while its pitch moved by 0.4 cents. Because the work happens on your device, there's no monthly limit on either tool.
For the voice itself, our vocal remover gives you the music only and the vocals only, free for 3 songs a day of up to 10 minutes with a free account; downloading needs a plan. The karaoke maker lets you sing over the music with your microphone, in a key that suits you. What we don't do: chords, lyrics, or separate drum and bass stems. For those, use one of the apps above.
Then hear the song in your own voice
Practising a song tells you how you sound today. Tera Studio sings the whole song in your voice: record about a minute of your normal singing (2 minutes sounds more like you), upload the original song, and hear it in your voice, on the original singer's notes and phrasing. See how to make a karaoke version of any song in your own voice.
Current price and limits
Every new account can make and hear 2 whole songs free, once per account, each up to 4 minutes, with no card. Downloads need a paid plan. Starter is $8.99 a month for 30 finished minutes (about 7 songs) and Creator is $19.99 a month for 90 minutes, or $89.99 and $189.99 paid yearly. Both include WAV and song-card video downloads, one guided correction per song and free re-downloads. Minutes refresh monthly without rollover. Prices show in your currency where available; pricing and Stripe checkout confirm the total before you pay. See the refund policy.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best free alternative to Moises? BandLab Splitter. It's free, splits vocals, drums, bass and other instruments, and changes the speed and key, which covers most of what people use Moises for. For downloadable stems, Fadr's free plan; for key and speed alone, our key changer and tempo changer.
Is Moises free? Partly. The free plan gives 5 uploads a month of up to 5 minutes each, with 2 or 4 stems, and shows chords and lyrics for the first minute only. Premium is $5.99 a month or $39.99 a year on the US App Store.
Which app shows chords like Moises? Chord ai detects chords from any song file, YouTube video or what its microphone hears, and also shows lyrics and separates stems. Advanced chords need its Pro plan.
Can I change a song's key without Moises? Yes. Our free key changer moves a song up to 6 semitones in your browser with no account, and BandLab Splitter and Chord ai both change the key inside their apps.
Is Moises worth paying for? If you use stems, chords and speed changes together every week, Premium at $39.99 a year is one of the cheaper paid plans on this page. If you only need one of those jobs, a free tool for that job is usually enough.
Hear any song in your own voice. Your first 2 songs are free to make and hear.
