To hear a song you love sung in your own voice, without recording the whole song or knowing any music software, the best place to start is Tera Studio. It learns your voice from about a minute of singing (2 minutes sounds more like you), and its free plan puts that voice on 2 whole songs, up to 4 minutes each, with no card. We make Tera Studio, so here is the evidence and where the others do better. Controlla Voice also lets you try your own voice free, and if you'll make a lot of covers, it and Musicfy cost far less per song. Kits AI has more tools for music producers. For an iPhone app, Jammable has one and Tera Studio doesn't. Every fact below was checked on October 28, 2026.
Key takeaways
- Free with your own voice: Tera Studio gives 2 whole songs, with a voice learned from your singing. Controlla Voice's free plan has 600 credits ("your first 3 songs"), and its FAQ says you can clone a voice and run a voice swap on it. Kits AI's and Audimee's free plans have 0 voice slots, and Jammable needs its Pro plan to train a voice.
- Cheapest per song: on the plan that trains your own voice, a 4-minute song costs about $0.07 on Musicfy (at its sale price), $0.29 on Controlla Voice, $0.80 on Audimee, $1.28 on Tera Studio and $3.33 on Kits AI.
- Speed: Tera Studio's 632 first songs in October took a median 14.8 minutes, voice learning included. Later songs with the saved voice took a median 0.8 minutes.
- Who uses it: from October 1 to 28, 762 people in 90 countries made a song on Tera Studio. India was 14% of those whose country we know and the US 9%; the Americas and Europe were 23% each.
- On the phone: Jammable and Suno have iPhone apps, and Controlla's is on pre-order. Tera Studio and Controlla Voice both run in the browser on phones, with no app to install.
- New songs instead of covers: Suno, Somio and Musicful write new songs, and their paid plans can use your voice. They don't sing a song you already know.
How we tested
On October 28, 2026 we opened each app's own pricing page, logged out. We wrote down four things:
- what the free plan does;
- the cheapest plan that trains your own voice;
- how much that plan makes a month;
- whether the company has an app in the iPhone App Store.
For cost per song, we took that plan's monthly minutes or songs and worked out the price of one 4-minute song you can download. Tera Studio's timings come from our own servers: every song finished between October 1 and 28, counted from pressing start to the finished song, waiting time included.
Two limits:
- Prices are from India. We checked from India, so Jammable, Suno and Musicful showed rupees. We quote what they showed.
- No same-voice test yet. We haven't run the same voice take through every app, which is the only fair way to judge which sounds most like you. Most of these apps need a paid month before they will train your voice. When we run that test, the clips and the ranking go on this page.

Half of the people whose site language we know used Tera Studio in English. The rest used 23 of its other languages, led by Spanish, Portuguese and French. The song can be in any language, because the words and pronunciation come from the original recording.
1. Tera Studio: best for a whole song in your voice, with nothing to set up
Tera Studio does one job. You sing about a minute of any song you know, in the browser or as an upload, and it learns your voice. Then you add a song file, and it sings that song in your voice over the original music. The melody, words, timing and breaths stay as the original singer did them. Only the voice changes, so it doesn't matter whether you can hit the notes yourself.
What the evidence says:
- Free: 2 whole songs in a voice learned from about a minute of your singing, with no card. Controlla Voice is the only other app here whose free plan uses your own voice.
- Speed: in October, the first song took a median 14.8 minutes. Half took between 13 and 17.5 minutes, and 9 in 10 were done within 22 minutes. Most of that is learning your voice, which happens once. Later songs took a median 0.8 minutes, and 79% were done within 2 minutes.
- Price: Starter is $8.99 a month for 30 finished minutes, about 7 songs. It also has a fixed local price in 35 other currencies, for example €8.99, £7.99 or ₹799.
- Languages: the site is in 31 languages, and songs can be in any language.
Where it falls short:
- It costs more per song than Controlla Voice, Audimee or Musicfy.
- There's no App Store or Google Play app.
- It has no library of other voices: only your own, or one you have permission to use.
2. Controlla Voice: best value if you make many covers
Controlla Voice covers a song in your voice, and it also does choirs, lyric swaps and voice blends. It returns clean stems for a music app on your computer. Its Plus plan, $12 a month or $8 a month paid yearly, trains one "studio" voice model a month and allows up to 166 minutes of voice swaps. That works out to about $0.29 for a 4-minute song. The $6 Basic plan has an instant clone but "no studio voice model".
New accounts get 600 credits and "your first 3 songs free" with no card, and its FAQ says the free plan lets you clone a voice and run a voice swap. Its instant clone needs 15 to 30 seconds of your voice. The trained studio clone wants 2 to 30 minutes of clean, dry singing, with no reverb, backing track or background noise. You can give it a whole song or a link, and it pulls out the lead vocal itself. It says it sings in 30+ languages. It runs in the browser on computers and phones, though it recommends a computer for training, and its iPhone app is on pre-order. More: Controlla Voice alternative.
3. Kits AI: built for producers, but no free voice slot
Kits AI is aimed at people who already make music. Its plans add voice slots, a choir tool, a voice blender and advanced settings. Its instant clone takes about 30 seconds of dry vocals, and its highest-quality clone needs 15 to 30 minutes and a few hours of training.
- Free: 15 conversion minutes, but 0 voice slots and 0 download minutes. You can't try your own voice without paying.
- Starter, $10 a month ($8 paid yearly): 2 voice slots, 60 conversion minutes and 15 download minutes. Downloads are the limit, so a 4-minute song you keep costs about $3.33.
- Producer, $30 a month ($16 paid yearly): unlimited voice slots and 60 download minutes.
We found no Kits AI app in the iPhone App Store. More: Kits AI alternative.
4. Musicfy: cheapest per song, at its sale price
Musicfy's prices are on a "summer sale", 60% off. Starter is $9.99 a month (list $24.99), or $95.99 a year, with 2 custom voices and 150 songs a month, marked "no voice targeting", which the page doesn't explain. If you use all 150, that's about 7 cents a song, by far the cheapest here. The free plan's limits aren't listed, and two App Store apps named Musicfy come from other sellers, so we couldn't confirm an official one. More: Musicfy alternative.
5. Audimee: one voice and one hour for $12
Audimee's free plan gives 15 minutes of conversions with library voices, for personal use, and no slot for your own voice. Starter is $12 a month ($9 a month paid yearly) for 1 custom voice and 1 hour, about $0.80 a song. Pro is $25 a month ($19 paid yearly) for 3 voices and 3 hours. You train a voice on 1 to 30 minutes of your singing, and it can turn one take into up to 5 harmony lines. More: Kits AI vs Audimee.
6. Jammable: the biggest voice library, and an iPhone app
Jammable lists 60,000+ voices, and an iPhone app called Jammable – Mashups (4.0 stars from 4,063 ratings in the US store). Without a plan you can browse and listen, but nothing more. Basic, ₹399 a month in India, makes unlimited covers with library voices. Training your own voice starts on Pro, ₹1,249 a month after a ₹349 first month, which allows up to 25 voices a month. WAV files are on Studio. More: Jammable alternative and Jammable vs Tera Studio.
7. Lalals: a large voice library
Lalals' free plan has 500 credits a month and 150+ library voices. Plus is $12.97 a month ($9.99 paid yearly) for 5,000 credits and 200+ voices, and Pro unlocks 3,000+. Its pricing page doesn't say which plan trains your own voice, so check before you pay. More: Lalals vs Tera Studio.
If you want a new song, not a cover
Suno, Somio and Musicful write songs from a prompt or lyrics, and their paid plans can use your voice:
- Suno: its Pro plan ($10 a month in the US, ₹680 in India) lists "Record, upload, and create with your own voice", with 20 song downloads a month. Its iPhone app has 4.9 stars from over 380,000 ratings.
- Somio: offers "Voice to Song" and one free song after sign-up.
- Musicful: its Standard plan (₹799 a month on sale) includes a basic voice clone with 1 voice slot.
These apps make a new song in your voice. None of them sings a song you already know the way its singer recorded it. More: Suno alternative.
If you can sing it yourself
Then you don't need AI. A karaoke app like Smule records you singing over the backing track, with all your own phrasing, and it's free to start. See best karaoke apps.
What we left out
- Covers.ai: its home page is built around celebrity, politician and cartoon voices, and we don't compare apps on that.
- VoiceDub: its site blocked our check.
- TopMediai: we didn't reach it in this round.
Which one should you pick?
- You've never used a music app and want to hear a favorite song in your voice: Tera Studio, and use the 2 free songs first.
- You'll make dozens of covers a month: Controlla Voice or Musicfy.
- You produce music and want stems, choirs and several voices: Kits AI or Controlla Voice.
- You want an app from the App Store: Jammable, or Suno for new songs.
- You can sing the whole song yourself: a karaoke app.
Current price and limits
Every new Tera Studio account can make and hear 2 whole songs free, once per account. Each can be up to 4 minutes, there's no card, and downloads need a plan.
